Dave Greenaway has been crowned Molten WBBL Coach of the Month in recognition of guiding Nottingham Wildcats to an impressive unbeaten start to the campaign and also taking the first honours of the season with another Betty Codona Classic title.
The reigning Molten WBBL Coach of the Year for 2015-16 has not missed a beat despite the summer break, after the club opened up 2016-17 by defending its coveted BC Classic silverware at the Wildcats Arena.
The play-caller masterminded a tough Semi-Final triumph against Barking Abbey Crusaders and then an eye-catching 86-59 success in the Final of the competition against powerhouse rivals Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters.
A week later, Wildcats tipped off their WBBL Championship title defence with an exciting 72-66 victory at Sport Central against last season’s closest challengers Team Northumbria, as Greenaway and his players extracted some quick revenge for their loss in the 2016 Molten WBBL Play-Off Final at The O2.
The next game saw them tussle once more with the Hatters, as Wildcats showed they can get it done under pressure by squeezing out a precious and nail-biting 87-85 triumph. They then powered their way to a pair of one-sided league victories against Caledonia Pride and Cardiff Met Archers as they continued their flawless start under the expert eye of Coach Greenaway.
