BBL 16-17 Recap: Week 9, Friday

Esh Group Eagles Newcastle moved to the top of the BBL Championship, while there were dramatic, but valuable wins for Manchester Giants and Surrey Scorchers. The Eagles soared to the summit with a 104-68 success over DBL Sharks Sheffield as Deondre Parks poured in 27 points to help his side improve to 10-1. In the game of the night, Manchester Giants netted four 3-pointers in the final minute including a game-winner at the buzzer from Mortiz Lanegger to steal an 88-89 win on the road against Worcester Wolves. Meanwhile, the Scorchers finished strong to overcome the challenge of Bristol Flyers away from home in a 67-73 triumph.
