Great Britain claimed seventh position at the FIBA U20 European Championship Division B with an impressive 77-41 victory against Georgia in Chalkida, Greece on Sunday.
As they have done throughout the campaign, Andreas Kapoulas’ side showed great resilience to recover from a tough loss to Poland on Saturday and finish the competition with five wins from eight games.
Four Brits scored in double figures, paced by Callum Lawson – who finished with 14 points and 10 boards – as GB dominated their opponents in all areas.
GB jumped out to an 18-9 lead against Georgia after scoring nine points on the fast-break during the opening period.
They maintained that pace in the second quarter, punishing Georgian turnovers and extending their lead to 16 points at the halfway stage as GB’s depth began to show.
After half-time, Jules Dang Akodo connected on a three-pointer and sparked a 14-0 run which allowed GB to establish complete control, leading 63-30 heading into the final stanza.
