Team Northumbria became the final team to advance to the Semi-Finals of the WBBL Play-Offs after seeing off Cardiff Met Archers with an 81-52 success.
Nicolette Fong Lyew Quee top scored with 15 points, while Abigail Asoro added a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds as part of a balanced attack from the home side.
It was the Archers who edged the early exchanges and led 10-8 midway through the first quarter. However, Chloe Bully connected twice from 3-point range in an 11-0 close to the period as Northumbria began to pull away.
The gap soon increased into double figures and the home side were able to establish a commanding 18-point lead at half-time after holding their opponents to nine points in the second quarter.
Cardiff were able to halt Northumbria’s charge with a more even third period, but a 17-4 spell helped the league runners-up go on to secure a resounding win.
The Archers were paced by Judit Fritz’ 17-point haul as their season came to an end.
Northumbria advance to set up a last four clash with Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters as their bid for a place at The O2 Arena for the Molten WBBL Play-Off Final took a step closer.
